SCREAMING AT UPCOMIN’ DISTRACTIONS!

Howdy there, Scream Freaks! Hope you’re breakin’ 2018 in with style and stayin’ outta trouble with all your tolerance testin’ resolutions. Ours is the same as every year of course, and that’s to bring y’all the best in animated horror entertainment we can on a regular schedule.

If you’ve been avoidin’ our site thinkin’ there was nothin’ worth checkin’ in for over the break, then allow us the displeasure of repeatin’ stuff you missed! First off, our fifth season is scheduled to premier at the end of this month, and we can’t wait to kick it off. Followin’ the conclusion of the war between Full Moon and (those other guys who missed out on tons of free publicity), Billy’s been blown a good ways from the Howl-Inn Grub & Spirits and landed in the laps of the four horsemen of the apocalypse. Luckily, the Screaming Soup! gang rushes to his rescue and begin a season long adventure that’ll take them to the four corners of the Crosslands and beyond to keep Billy safe.

These next 10 episodes are gonna be packed with new allies, villains, lands, and a bunch of horror host cameos as we return to basics and put the focus back on our own characters with more revealed about their backgrounds than ever before. You’ll see where Billy came from, how Deadwest died, and where Mandy met the man of her screams. The one notable change you may notice is the lack of familiar rock tunes blastin’ in the background, but that’s because we’re lucky enough to have Brian Barnes (the workhorse talent behind Your Final Answer and Mondopiece Theater, not to mention the social lube in the online horror host community) whip up some new scores to help make the show more original and avoid any pesky copyright problems YouTube and streaming services like to bitch about.

We’ve still got some of the secondary vids on the backburner like Graphic Violence and Re-Animated Reviews, but we can only promise to get to those when we can ’cause our primary focus is the main series which is what y’all are really here to kick back to for an insightful laugh. We’re sittin’ on three to four scripts for those vids already, but animation is very tedious, and since we upped the action in our show which means more time spent puttin’ it all together, it unfortunately steals time from vids of us talkin’ ’bout Beetlejuice cartoons and Re-Animator comics.

And for those Scream Queen aficionados, we’re celebratin’ B-Queen Sybil Danning all this month as our Howlin’ Hottie of the Week, which is the first time we’ve ever spotlighted the same horror honey for four consecutive weeks. We’ll be enjoyin’ our favorite eye candy outfits she’s worn for sizzlin’ roles that literally made some movie goers spontaneous combust under the collar, so be sure to check those out the next few weeks, and let us know what your favorite Sybil flick is.

Other than that, be sure to catch up on all past Screaming Soup! Seasons, check out this week’s Howl’n Hottie, read recent reviews for the newer horror films and comics we’re checkin’ out in our blogs, R-Rated Reviews and Sequential Slime, and help us get the word out about the web’s #1 animated horror host show! Please use our social buttons in the upper right corner of the site and follow our tweets, subscribe to our video channels, like our Facebook, watch and share all our vids, and keep that fan mail comin’.

SCREAMING AT RANDOM SHIT!

Howdy there, Scream Freaks! Lots goin’ on around our parts, so let’s jump into it!

First off, tons of thanks go out to you Scream Freaks who’re still out there fightin’ for our show to play freely without any censorship from Troma. More of you have told us about you contactin’ them, and we’re humbled each and every update. While there hasn’t been any change in their bafflin’ decision to shut down non-profit parody reviews celebratin’ their movies, we have been in touch with some of their past filmmakers by chance! We informed B.C. Butcher director Kansas Bowling of her characters bein’ animated but censored after she liked a fan’s tweet suggestin’ we review her flick, and the director of Attack of the Tromaggot reached out to us in response to reviewin’ his film in Screaming Soup! episode 31, Attack of the Tromaggot vs Shrunken Heads. That was a big shock, and we got to explain to him why his movie monster’s break into animation had to be censored. The latest appeal to Troma we’ve been made aware of comes from loyal Scream Freak Paladin Demo, and he’s allowin’ us to share his words below. Thank ya kindly!

In other news, we’re currently workin’ with the musical talent of Brian Barnes aka Grim Reaper from Your Final Answer to produce original stock music for Screaming Soup! which is a lot of fun. If you haven’t heard yet, Brian’s retired the monkey and banana skits to try his hand at a new show called Mondopiece Theatre reviewin’ some really obscure flicks you might have never heard of or care to watch. He just released his 4th episode this week reviewin’ some Mexican biker gang flick, so check it out.

And speakin’ of workin’ with such great talent, we’re doubly excited to be joined by Lost Story Studios, a creative gang of guys behind some of Full Moon’s latest mayhem like the Gingerdead Man comics and Full Moon’s latest feature, Evil Bong 666. After meetin’ on the convention circuit, they overheard us bitchin’ about needin’ a better Gingerdead Man voice for upcomin’ episodes, and they offered to step up to the mike and spit some Busey inspired lines for starvin’ art. Crazy brave fellas who are sure to elevate the quality of the show!

We also want to give another shout out to the winner of this past “Spot the Dollman Contest,” James Lohmann from Markham, IL. After so many complaints the Dollman was too easy to find in previous episodes, we made this round especially challengin’, and he rose to the occasion. Those are some good eyes, James! You couldn’t have won a Full Moon DVD and original Screaming Soup! art without them.

Warm up some Screaming Soup! leftovers with reruns scheduled to play on Sluggo’s The Vortexx (after 9PM EST Sunday and Wednesday nights)!

If you need the hook-up with instant Troma and Full Moon movies, we’d suggest watching Troma’s films for free on their Youtube channel, and you can get full access to Full Moon’s catalog of work from their movies to their Videozone clips at Full Moon Streaming and their Amazon channel.

SCREAMING AT FILM FACTS AND SHOUT OUTS!

Howdy there, Scream Freaks! The verdict’s in and it sounds like y’all are enjoyin’ this epic 4th season sure enough, but there’s been some confusion and questions surroundin’ the storyline. Aside from the controversy over whether or not the booger from the closet officially won his fight with Rawhead Rex this past episode, some of you have been hittin’ us up askin’ why certain characters are included in Full Moon’s army of super freaks. More specifically, our horror fanfare’s been challenged with Scream Freaks tellin’ us characters from movies like Re-Animator, From Beyond, and Rawhead Rex have no place on Full Moon’s dance card for this war. Well, sit down before ya’ fall down, Scream Freaks, and learn somethin’!

When we here at Screaming Soup! think Full Moon, we think of its head honcho, Charles Band. Charlie’s been in showbiz for a long time and is partly responsible for an assload of horror and sci-fi films fans have no problem recognizin’. His first notable company that pumped out a lot of popular flicks was Empire Pictures which produced and/or distributed films like Re-Animator, From BeyondRawhead Rex, and too many others to name. After a few years, Charlie relocated his base of operations and transitioned to bein’ Full Moon as part of that move. So, since we identify Full Moon as Charlie and Charlie was Empire, then Full Moon = Empire for us. This is why the Jeffrey Combs characters refer to Charlie as Emperor Band as an acknowledgment of their ties to Empire Pictures. Plus, for entertainment purposes, this parody war is 10x more fun addin’ all those Empire characters with Full Moon’s current stars like Gingerdead Man and Killjoy. And if you need more proof, Scream Freak, just refer to the book Empire of the ‘B’s: The Mad Movie World of Charles Band by Dave Jay. Herbert West, Rawhead Rex, and From Beyond are even on the cover with Charlie!

Now that we got that off our chest, we got a few shout outs this week. First, we wanna congratulate a couple of Scream Freaks. Brandon Riggs from Wellsville, OH won this past episode’s “Spot the Dollman Challenge” and got himself a copy of Intruder with an original piece of Screaming Soup! art. Joe Kerr recently had a birthday, so everyone here’s screamin’ him a HAPPY BIRTHDAY because we always need an excuse for cake. We also had the pleasure of meetin’ the author behind the Gingerdead Man comics this past weekend, Brockton McKinney. Lots of fun to talk to and an important man ’round Full Moon ’cause he wrote the latest Evil Bong flick comin’ 4/20/17. Be sure to check out his company Lost Story Studios to see all the comics and movies he’s up to with his gang. And finally, our good friend the Grim Reaper has been bustin’ his ass on a new show, Mondopiece Theatre, and just released his newest episode which we’ve posted below for your pleasure. Give it a peek and tell him what you think!

Other than that, be sure to catch up on all past Screaming Soup! SCREAMING AT THE BASKET CASE TRILOGY!

Howdy there, Scream Freaks, and a happy early Halloween to ya as we bring our larger than afterlife season to its epic conclusion with a 36 minute finale! As you know, Buzzkill’s makin’ the Howl-Inn Grub and Spirits ground zero for his trap of a Halloween party meant to enslave the Crosslands, and it’s up to your favorite horror host gang to stop him. Everyone returns for one last appearance as the slime hits the fan and all walks of creature witness an unholy horror host feud end in a big top showdown.

To compliment such a celebration, we picked an equally monstrous film series to review, the Basket Case trilogy! We were fortunate enough to find these movies years ago on VHS when a video store was closing, and boy were we entertained by what has to be one of the most underrated monsters next to Maniac Cop! If you haven’t seen them, the movies follow these conjoined twins who were separated against their wishes, and now the normal looking brother carries his human meatball freak of a sibling in a wicker basket, struggling to find their place in the world while attacking haters. It’s absolutely one to check out, and even more fun to review so watch it below!

As for the sneak preview of next season you see in this review, we’ll come back to that later . . .

Be sure to catch up on Screaming Soup! SCREAMING AT PINATA SURVIVAL ISLAND!

Howdy there, Scream Freaks! We see that silly rigor mortis grin spreading across your face and bet that’s because we got an all NEW Screaming Soup! episode for you today! Yessir, today we’re reviewing a horror film we only fell asleep 3 times during . . . Pinata Survival Island. Boozin’ college students, demonic piñatas, and the most lackluster romance to save the day!

In this review, we’re once again visited by the Grim Reaper from Your Final Answer (that guy’s really been hangin’ around) and have a very special cameo by Tiki Z from the indy published Tiki Zombie comics created by Michael Gordon. We’re incredibly grateful for Michael allowing us to animate Tiki Z who we became instant fans of after finding his comics at our local comic shop and insist you Scream Freaks hit him up for copies of his comics and Tiki Zombie soundtrack at tikizombie.net. You won’t regret it!

And real quick to follow up last week’s blog, Blair Witch sucked. It was well made, shot, and acted, but the story sucked because it’s more or less the first movie all over again just with more people, cameras, and effects. So, if you haven’t dropped any deniro for that walletbuster yet, DON’T! Still see it sometime, but wait for Netflix or Redbox. To see what else we thought about it, check out our review on the R-Rated Reviews page.

As a reminder, be sure to catch up on Screaming Soup! SCREAMING AT JESSE JAMES MEETS FRANKENSTEIN’S DAUGHTER!

Howdy there, Scream Freaks! Start poppin’ that popcorn and pour some alcohol in your soda as we kick back for another exciting episode of Screaming Soup! Buzzkill’s still got the Howl-Inn Grub & Spirits under his thumb and help is still being recruited for taking him and his monster misfits out. This time the road to victory leads us to legends in both western and horror with the oddball combo of Jesse James and Maria Frankenstein!

These nuts first met in Jesse James Meets Frankenstein’s Daughter which obviously becomes our flick to review this episode. It’s a different kind of film with its genre mish-mashing that’s a hit and miss from scene to scene, but had enough going on in it for us to have some fun stuff to shoot the shit about. Hopefully without too much trouble from the voodoo hoodoo gang that runs the restaurant we’re meeting them at!

And a special thanks to the Grim Reaper from Your Final Answer for putting up with Buzzkill as a guest star. Check out the Reaper’s website (paradeofhorrorables.com), and subscribe to his Youtube page!!

Still reading this? Skip down and watch the vid already!

SCREAMING AT FRANKENHOOKER!

Howdy there, Scream Freaks! Hot off the heels of the successful Bloodbath & Beyond crossover, we present to you the newest and craziest chapter in the Buzzkill’s Revenge saga yet with your favorite gang of horror hosts reviewing the cult-hit, Frankenhooker!

We can still remember hearing rumors about this schlockbuster long ago, and how excited we were when we finally got to see it in all its shocking glory years later. Many filmmakers have given the Frankenstein story their own creative spin, but only Frank Henenlotter’s version about a crazed electrician re-animating his mowed down girlfriend with hooker body-parts has ever stood out enough to make us want to run and tell all our friends about it. Raunchy, gritty, and full of fun, every horror fan needs Frankenhooker in their collection.

We also have more horrific personalities making guest appearances in this episode and want to give a quick shout out to those folks. Jay from Bloodbath & Beyond is back along with our friend Grim Reaper from Your Final Answer, and we’re lucky enough to share the screen with the Horror Guru and the Horror Addicts who have been very cool to collaborate with. They’re all amazing talents in horror entertainment, so please click their links below to check out their Youtube channels, but make sure to come back here for more servings of Screaming Soup!

SCREAMING AT UPCOMING CROSSOVERS!

Howdy there, Scream Freaks! We can already tell ya, this is going to be a fun month for Screaming Soup! Not only are we going to bring you our favorite review of Season 3 on 6/20/16, but we’re also playing host to several macabre guests we’ve asked to join us for some crossover antics!

We don’t want to spoil the surprise for who these guests are just yet, but the majority of them are other popular horror movie reviewers you more than likely heard of, and they’ll be making cameos in the next episode which takes our gang to the Tailhouse — the Crosslands #1 stripjoint! We push the animation further, give ya plenty of cartoon babes to oogle, review one of the best B-movies of all time, and share the screen with some of the hottest talents in the business. It’s going to be unforgettable.

In the meantime, we are ready to tell you we’ve been hard at work on a crossover special with another team of superstars . . . Bloodbath & Beyond! Yessir, we’ve been talking a lot with these guys lately, and we both came to the obvious conclusion we needed to do a crossover. Live action meets animation, its a true clash of worlds as we step outside our norms, attempting something we’ve never done before. I won’t say how we crossover or what we’re going to review, but it’ll be like a 2-parter with fans needing to watch vids on both our Youtube channels to get the full story. We’re aiming to release that by Friday, 6/10/16.

Other than that, be sure to catch up on Screaming Soup! Seasons 1-2 after watching the latest Season 3 episodes, check out this week’s Howl’n Hottie, read recent reviews for the newer horror films we’re watching in our R-Rated Reviews blog, and help us get the word out about the web’s #1 animated horror host show! SCREAMING AT WEREWOLVES AND CAMEOS!

Howdy there, Scream Freaks! Woo-doggy, have you got it made this week with a double scoop of goodies! Not only are we premiering another tribute video for your horrific pleasure, but you also get some more animated mayhem as we make a guest appearance on Grim Reaper’s “Your Final Answer!”

Tackling the first tribute video to follow the Bruce Campbell shout-out we put together last Halloween, we realized these vids didn’t have to be spotlighting horror celebrities every time and could be about anything we think deserved attention. Jump scares, screams, rubber bats, whatever! With that said, we skipped purchasing someone’s entire film career for creating the coolest montage of their life in movies, and decided to celebrate werewolf transformations instead. Yessir, we went through our whole collection of monster movies and pieced together every super morphing,  hair sprouting, gore-tastic scene of man becoming beats we could find and pieced it all together in one Ramones jamming vid. You can check it out below and if you want to know where the clips came from, you can check out the movies on the vid’s page HERE.

In other news, Grim Reaper asked us to stop by and make another legendary appearance on his show “Your Final Answer,” and we hopefully don’t disappoint. That guest spot can also be seen below, and be sure to visit Reaper’s website (paradeofhorrorables.com), and subscribe to his Youtube page!!

SCREAMING AT RABID GRANNIES

Howdy there, Scream Freaks! Stop what you’re doin’ and speed read through this blog, because you got yourself an all new Screaming Soup! episode below! Yup, it’s been a long time coming, but we finally got in a review of a Troma film. No, it ain’t Toxic Avenger or Sgt. Kabukiman NYPD or even Cannibal! The Musical. You probably already saw those, and we want you to see more obscure things you don’t already know about that deserves just as much attention. Expand your knowledge is what we’re stressin’ here. In this case, a Belgium classic made for Troma President Lloyd Kaufman himself . . . Rabid Grannies!

This was certainly a great film that actually took us by surprise with how fun it was to watch. There’s gore, humor, distinctive characters, nudity, high body count that includes young’ns but no critters, and a classic setting. And all from some ambitious Troma fans in Belgium who made this because Uncle Lloyd said he’d pick it up for distribution if they did. Certainly a high priority on the list of Troma films you gotta see!

Or at least start with our review below . . .

We also want to give a shout out to Brian Barnes at Your Final Answer for providing an all original song for the end of this review, “Silver Fox.” Brian’s a creative workhorse, and we’ve been watching him produce weekly videos for over a year now without fail, so its all the more impressive he was able to find the time to write and record a song from scratch during his busy schedule. For more of his music, look through his Youtube vids HERE, and be sure to visit his site HERE. The Screaming Soup! Music Video for “Silver Fox” can be watched HERE.
