That’s right, before we work anymore on the next excitin’ chapter of our apocalyptic themed season, we finally take the time to check a major comic review off our to-do list–Puppet Master!
From their first funny book appearance in the Eternity comics from the ’90s to their recent 3 year stint at Action Lab, we cover the puppets’ entire sequential history in this video. We discuss the different series’ relations to the movies, explain how writers tried pluggin’ glarin’ plot holes created by the sequels, and finally get some answers to just how Toulon’s damn elixir works! And most importantly, we tell ya just what Toulon and his fightin’ splinters have been up to since their last modern adventure in part 5 . . . wait. Part 6 is modern, but is that a prequel or sequel? Oh, and I forget where Pupper Master Legacy fits into the timeline. Damn. See how confusin’ this all gets?!!

The art is prepped, the next review is cut together, and we’re jumpin’ face first into the initial stages for animatin’ the next excitin’ episode of Screaming Soup! with the gang goin’ on a rescue mission to save Billy from the clutches of the Iron Horsemen of Doom. Jumpin’ jack-o-lanterns, these are some excitin’ times to tune into our show!
In the meantime, we’re pretty pumped for Full Moon Empire’s new comic scheduled for release next month, Dollman Kills the Full Moon Universe. The first comic series featurin’ Charlie Bands’ characters to be published in-house, this mini-series guarantees to be a tour de slaughter of glorious mayhem as Dollman, a 13″ alien cop with an attitude, makes it his mission to obliterate all evil off the face of the Earth includin’ the Demonic Toys, Killjoy, Castle Freak, and even the Puppet Master characters! With out own artwork makin’ it into the comics, we’ve just been burstin’ with excitement ’bout all this and decided it was time to revisit a review that’s long past due.
As of right now, we’re workin’ on an all new Graphic Violence video that will review the entire run of Puppet Master comics from the ’90s Eternity issues through Action Lab’s stint that just recently ended. We had plans for this durin’ our fourth season while we were still in the middle of our crossover with Full Moon, but the animation got to be so epic, we had to put this particular review on the backburner ’til now. Actually works out better this way, ’cause with Action Lab’s licensin’ contract ended, we can now give y’all a complete review of that particular series with foreshadowin’ at the puppet’s return in these Dollman comics. Howdy there, Scream Freaks, and Happy Halloween!!! The best day of the year has arrived, and we worked our tailbones off to give you the greatest treat before the witchin’ hour strikes. You read right. Below is the long awaited finale to our most ambitious season yet, the epic conclusion to this year’s infamous underground B-movie brawl, T**** vs Full Moon!!!!
Bein’ our 40th episode, we went all out on this one. Lots of fightin’, returnin’ characters, surprises, emotional ups and downs, and one last marathon of reviews takin’ a humorous look at the Toxic Avenger series. If you’ve never seen one of these manic mutant movies, you’re in for a treat, partner, ’cause these flicks are about as crazy as they get. Unlike their kid friendly counterpart, the Toxic Crusaders cartoon series, these indie superhero monster flicks are gory, perverse, vulgar, politically incorrect . . . just how we like it!
Really wish we could be celebratin’ this landmark in our series with both Full Moon and Troma, but sadly nothin’s changed with Troma since we premiered this season last January. Lloyd Kaufman wanted to be part of all this harmless non-profit fun, but his partners at Troma weren’t as enthusiastic and is the reason all this had to be censored and keep y’all from fully enjoyin’ somethin’ so fun and different. But we worked through all that drama to keep givin’ you Scream Freaks a fantasy fight we thought you’d get a kick out of, and still feel a rush of achievement for completin’ this season that’s three years in the makin’!
That said, we cannot thank Charles Band and Full Moon enough for bein’ such great supporters for our show this past year. Full Moon is ran by a cool gang of filmmakers we’re happy to call our friends, and Charlie has just been amazin’ to work with given his busy schedule. He was onboard with this crossover idea from the get go, and is one of the most chilled dudes you’ll ever meet. While the crossover is endin’, we look forward to continuin’ our relationship with Full Moon and hope to collaborate again in the future.
Hell, maybe one day Troma will recognize these episodes for all the free publicity they offer and will contact us in the future to release the uncensored versions for fans to binge.

Watchin’ so many horror hosts and YouTube reviewers over the years, we’ve seen different ones touch upon a few of the more popular Puppet Master flicks but never dig in with a fully comprehensive look at the entire series. That’s why we’re crankin’ things from 10 to 11 with a two-part ULTRA review that’ll chew the fat on EVERY Puppet Master flick made, includin’ (fangs crossed) Puppet Master Axis Termination! We’ll try for Puppet Master: Littlest Reich as well, but that’ll be tougher to get our hands on in time since another film company is makin’ it.

Howdy there, Scream Freaks! Woo-doggy, we’ve had some fireworks ‘roud here, and it’s far from over as the epic battle between your favorite independent film companies continues. T####’s pissed at Screaming Soup!, Full Moon’s up to some secret means of escapin’ the Crosslands, and all hell’s breakin’ loose as Gingerdead Man instigates a bar brawl between Killjoy and some Cretins that can tip the delicate truce back into full scale war! Things have been so hectic, we didn’t even have time to touch base with you folks last week!
To catch you up on what’s been goin’ on lately, we still have a lot of irons in the fire as this season draws closer to bein’ wrapped up. We’re poised for our 5th apocalyptic season we’re excited to get started on, preppin’ Season 6 well in advance, and doin’ our best to catch up the secondary vids we promised like Graphic Violence and Re-Animated Reviews. We want to review the Toxic Crusaders cartoon and tell y’all about all the comics based on Toxie, Puppet Master, and Re-Animator. The scripts have been written, and the comics have been scanned for those, but we’re in the thick of editin’ the last 20 reviews together which is gonna have to delay those a little longer. With a big honcho like Full Moon involved this season, you’ll understand why we’re puttin’ all our energy into these episodes for the time bein’!
We’re also busy spreadin’ the word about our show to help grow our fanbase. We’re reachin’ out to other streamin’ services needin’ programs, applyin’ for panel discussions at Big Fandom again, and contactin’ popular horror publications that might want to write an article about the world’s first fully animated horror host show. In addition, we’re plannin’ certain crossovers that won’t interrupt our production schedule and have a couple lined up with the Horror Addicts. As of now, our favorite ghost girlfriend Mandy is supposed to make a guest appearance on B. Gory’s “Ghoul’s Night Out” livestream this month, and Deadwest and Billy will be in a crossover review with Danny Knightmare talkin’ ’bout Full Moon’s Goobers sometime in October. Promises to be fun, and we’ll keep you up to date on those as they happen. And we’re excited to announce we’ll be featurin’ Pretty Weird Art’s Death Elf and Woose in some episodes next season. We interviewed the creators behind this cool independent comic a couple years back in our Graphic Headstone blog and are thrilled to have the chance to bring their creations to life like we did with Michael Gordon’s Tiki Zombie in our Pinata Survivor Island review!

Howdy there, Scream Freaks and welcome to the next excitin’ battle royal between Full Moon and those other guys we’re not supposed to name! As we punch and kick into the last half of this interdimensional brawl between two mighty B-movie behemoths, you may have noticed the rules are changin’ somewhat. But not to worry, we’re here to explain!
We here at Screaming Soup! consider ourselves completionists. When we watch or talk about a series, we wanna go over all of it! Take our Season 2 finale for example, when we reviewed Slumber Party Massacre 1-3 and its loose sequels Cheerleader Massacre 1-2. This compulsion of ours is one big reason why Full Moon fans haven’t been seein’ certain reviews or appearances of their favorite Full Moon characters.
The purpose of Season 4’s first half was to make you Full Moon and Troma fans aware of stand alone flicks that may have flown under your radar, helpin’ clue you in to other monsters worth watchin’ outside the bigger titles like Toxic Avenger and Puppet Master. But we ain’t stupid, and know y’all wanna watch the big dogs throwdown, so this last half turns the spotlight over to them. Problem is, however, these movie monsters have more than one flick and remember what we said about us bein’ completionists?
So, we’re lookin’ at the remainin’ 5 episodes of the season and want to review complete series from each studio that’s anywhere from 4-10 movies each series. The most reviews we can reasonably animate around are 5-6, and those episodes run over 30 minutes. So, if we were to review 2 complete series per episode for the last 5 episodes, we’d essentially be producin’ a season and a half worth of material by the end with half the episodes runnin’ over an hour long each. With this imposin’ workload threatenin’ to work us into the ground, upset the regular premier dates, and screw up our production schedule for Screaming Soup! Season 5, it’s just easier to break these last fights down into parts over 2-3 episodes with each episode dedicated to 1 whole series instead of 2. This limits how many more of your favorite characters we can pack in before the end, of course, but we promise you won’t be disappointed by our picks for these final rounds.
While it’s not blatantly displayed on the video cover, we think you can easily figure out this fight is Killjoy vs The Class of Nuke ‘Em High which will continue next episode with a review of that entire Troma series (minus the newly released Return to Return to Nuke ‘Em High Vol. 2 dependin’ on if we get a copy we can edit a review with). As sworn on a stack of Necronomicons before, Toulon’s puppets ain’t far behind and will get a very special in depth treatment that’ll make up for the wait when they arrive. Patience stressed one . . .

Howdy there, Scream Freaks! The verdict’s in and it sounds like y’all are enjoyin’ this epic 4th season sure enough, but there’s been some confusion and questions surroundin’ the storyline. Aside from the controversy over whether or not the booger from the closet officially won his fight with Rawhead Rex this past episode, some of you have been hittin’ us up askin’ why certain characters are included in Full Moon’s army of super freaks. More specifically, our horror fanfare’s been challenged with Scream Freaks tellin’ us characters from movies like Re-Animator, From Beyond, and Rawhead Rex have no place on Full Moon’s dance card for this war. Well, sit down before ya’ fall down, Scream Freaks, and learn somethin’!
When we here at Screaming Soup! think Full Moon, we think of its head honcho, Charles Band. Charlie’s been in showbiz for a long time and is partly responsible for an assload of horror and sci-fi films fans have no problem recognizin’. His first notable company that pumped out a lot of popular flicks was Empire Pictures which produced and/or distributed films like Re-Animator, From Beyond, Rawhead Rex, and too many others to name. After a few years, Charlie relocated his base of operations and transitioned to bein’ Full Moon as part of that move. So, since we identify Full Moon as Charlie and Charlie was Empire, then Full Moon = Empire for us. This is why the Jeffrey Combs characters refer to Charlie as Emperor Band as an acknowledgment of their ties to Empire Pictures. Plus, for entertainment purposes, this parody war is 10x more fun addin’ all those Empire characters with Full Moon’s current stars like Gingerdead Man and Killjoy. And if you need more proof, Scream Freak, just refer to the book Empire of the ‘B’s: The Mad Movie World of Charles Band by Dave Jay. Herbert West, Rawhead Rex, and From Beyond are even on the cover with Charlie!
Now that we got that off our chest, we got a few shout outs this week. First, we wanna congratulate a couple of Scream Freaks. Brandon Riggs from Wellsville, OH won this past episode’s “Spot the Dollman Challenge” and got himself a copy of Intruder with an original piece of Screaming Soup! art. Joe Kerr recently had a birthday, so everyone here’s screamin’ him a HAPPY BIRTHDAY because we always need an excuse for cake. We also had the pleasure of meetin’ the author behind the Gingerdead Man comics this past weekend, Brockton McKinney. Lots of fun to talk to and an important man ’round Full Moon ’cause he wrote the latest Evil Bong flick comin’ 4/20/17. Yessir, it’s east coast vs west coast, mutants vs aliens, no budget vs more budget as B movies’ last warriors go toe to toe in this fantasy mash-up with your favorite animated horror host reffing the whole shebang!
This premier episode, we’re warmin’ up with reviews of some lesser known movies from Troma and Full Moon, Attack of the Tromaggot and Shrunken Heads. Both are pretty unique films from the warped imaginations of composer Danny Elfman’s brother and kids from Berlin, offerin’ plenty of what the fuck moments, monsters, and craziness you gotta see! We also need to give a HUGE shout out to Charles Band for Full Moon’s support for this event and goin’ as far as givin’ us some cameos to pepper in this season. We’re still workin’ on swingin’ some cameos from Lloyd Kaufman, but Troma’s involvement has unfortunately gone back into limbo for the foreseeable future at this time. Sucks, we know.
Reminder reruns of our show will premier on Beta Max TV 1/21/17 at 8pm durin’ a livestream line-up of horror host shows, and then we’ll be added to their video on demand section ’til the next scheduled rerun. Our first appearance on The Vortexx was this past Wednesday and went well, so we’ll continue bein’ in their scheduled line-up as well. Definitely check these channels out and enjoy some of the talent we’re joinin’ like the Mummy and the Monkey, My Gal the Zombie, and the Cinema Snob.
