Howdy there, Scream Freaks! It’s been a while, but things have been crazier ’round our parts than a coked out bronco on rocket skates. You read that right! So much has happened since the last time we shot the shit with ya, and we have not one but two updates for ya this week! Jumpin’ jack-o-lanterns, right?!
First up is the long-awaited interview promised to our amigos over at The Horror Show, a pod-cast kinda YouTube channel hosted by Cecil Laird, Marcia Parker, Susie Von Slaughter & Jaime En Fuegothat who specialize in discussin’ and reviewin’ a wide range of horror topics. We first became aware of each other’s channels durin’ the original Creepy Channel Crawl back in 2018 and had a face to grimace run-in at Mad Monster Party a few months back. They’re gang is so professional and courteous, we couldn’t say anythin’ but “YES!” to their request for a spotlight interview with the web’s #1 animated horror host show. Took a while to make it happen with us bein’ in the middle of an apocalyptic season while on call for more artwork for Full Moon Empire’s upcomin’ Deadly Ten comics, but our fellow HorrorTubers were more than patient and turned out a really cool video that certainly makes us laugh. On ‘nother note, we want to share our excitement over winnin’ a contest on The Mummy and the Monkey’s Hairy Scary Hangout this past Friday durin’ their livestream broadcast of Horror Express on Facebook. This hair and scare combo is lucky ‘nough to be friends with one of the many legends of the horror host community, Drac from The Frank and Drac Show, and he recently donated a handful of Universal monster prints he painted to their show for contest giveaways. After weeks of drawin’ winners’ names to receive these fine works of wall art, we luckily got our name added to the final drawin’ as the final prints were ’bout to be given away, and as luck would have it – we won! Thanks to Drac for sharin’ his art ‘mong the horror community, Mummy and the Monkey for takin’ the time to distribute them ‘mong the fans, and keep an eye out for these beauties hangin’ ’round the Howl-Inn Grub & Spirits in future episodes.

Howdy there, Scream Freaks! If ya kept your ear to the ground lately, ya may have heard our amigos over at Full Moon Empire have thrown the gauntlet down and boldly declared plans for no less than 10 movies this year. Jumpin’ jack-o-lanterns, that even possible?! Whether it is or not, Charlie Band and his gang of indie misfits are gonna give it their best shot and already set things in motion all around the world to see these flicks made.
While some of these films will be all-new stand alone titles (Grim Rapper, The Shadowheart Curse, and The Hourglass), the majority of them will be sequels to past hits like Head of the Family, Femalien, Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama, Subspecies, and Necropolis with character favorites like Blade and the Gingerweed Man gettin’ their own solo adventures outside the series that introduced them. Based on these project’s synopsis we found at Ain’t It Cool News, we’re most excited to see Grim Rapper, Blade: The Iron Cross, Halloweed Night, and especially Bride of the Head of the Family which Charlie’s been itchin’ to make for several years now. We’re definitely gonna be first in line for ‘nother Slimeball flick by David DeCoteau and never let anyone forget it already has a no strings attached Z-grade sequel with DeCoteau’s blessin’ from the ’90s called Sorority Babes in the Dance-A-Thon of Death.
Another piece of excitin’ news we can’t share too much ’bout is rumor of ‘nother Full Moon Empire comic on the way! Yessir, seems the Dollman Kills the Full Moon Universe mini-series was just the beginnin’, and these latest flicks in the makin’ inspired Charlie to publish even more stories based on his most popular characters. Even better, we’ve been contacted to provide more parody art for these potential publications, continuin’ the gags we started with writer Brockton McKinney in Dollman Kills the Full Moon Universe with fake ads for mail-aways, cartoons, and video games based on Full Moon movies. Can’t wait!
‘course, we’re gonna do our best to not let any of these outside projects slow down our production for more Screaming Soup! episodes, and the next one is just ’bout done. The animation is 90-95% finished, and editin’ in the music and sound effects won’t take long after that. So, be on the ready for watchin’ us venture into the next level of hell to save Billy from a Doomsday sacrifice while reviewin’ a mutant goober fish disasterpiece sometime in the next couple of weeks. Howdy there, Scream Freaks! We’re a few steps into the new year and already deliverin’ a two step combo of blows for upholdin’ our claim as the web’s #1 animated horror host show. If you’ve been readin’ these blogs, then you already know our regularly scheduled program fell behind due to financial and promotional opportunities we couldn’t ignore. Full Moon Empire was cuttin’ us checks for art they published in their Dollman Kills the Full Moon Universe comic, we submitted interviews for upcomin’ documentaries we hope make the cut, made cameos on fellow hosts’ shows, and been heavily preparin’ for our first official convention appearance.
It kills us everyday a new episode or review doesn’t go up for y’all to enjoy, and we’re thankful for you loyal Scream Freaks stickin’ ’round to see what happens with Billy and the Iron Horsemen of Doom. With things settlin’ down after the holidays now, we’re firin’ on all pistons and dropkickin’ our tailbones into gettin’ this latest episode out. In the meantime, we still have a review of every Halloween comic ever published lined up, and even been developin’ ideas for vids we can produce quicker between the main episodes to sate your appetites for more Screaming Soup!
In the spirit of the new year, we’re also takin’ the plunge to try some things we’ve been meanin’ to in the efforts of promotion and the fun of experimentation. The biggest one has been makin’ convention appearances to spread the word ’bout our show. This has been on our bucket list since the first season, and we decided to make this happen at Mad Monster Party in North Carolina. We always hesitated ’cause the vision we have for our booth is a lot of work to pull off with all the bells and whistles of TVs playin’ the show and props of our set and characters, but we strategically pieced it together little by little these past few months and pretty happy with how it’s shapin’ up. We’ve been buildin’ a section of the Howl-Inn Grub & Spirits, editin’ safe for work versions of the show, printin’ banners, and designin’ new merch to sell. We’re comin’ into that con hard and makin’ sure no one walks out without knowin’ who we are!
Something else on the bucket list our friends the Horror Addicts motivated us to check off is doin’ somethin’ more live-action. They just invited us to be guests durin’ a viewin’ of a killer tomato flick they have planned with their patrons on 1/14/19, and we couldn’t say no. Problem is, when you’re a cartoon, instant animated commentary ain’t always possible. This calls for somethin’ more practical like a puppet which is somethin’ else we’ve been draggin’ our boots on. Howdy there, Scream Freaks! Gonna keep this one short, ’cause we’re still recoverin’ from a mighty impressive production of “Rocky Horror Show” last night that had more dry humpin’ action than a lover’s lane packed with high school virgins on a Friday night! Now, we’ve been to numerous midnight movie rodeos to see this kooky celebration before, but this was pretty excitin’ stuff, ’cause it was our first time watchin’ it performed as a stage play versus a shadow cast mimickin’ a movie screen behind them. Luckily, the audience was still allowed to shout all the classic profanities when cued with hands full of props and alcohol, makin’ this an experience we won’t soon forget. Lots of impressive singin’, ingenious use of space, and it definitely had the most attractive and talented cast of yahoos we’ve ever seen parade around in sci-fi drag for this tireless cult phenomenon!
Anyway, for those on the edge of their bar stool waitin’ for the next excitin’ episode of Screaming Soup!, rest easy, ’cause it’s comin’. We’re tryin’ to wrap it up before we start on the next parody ad for Full Moon’s Dollman Kills the Full Moon Universe comic, and we’re already 2/3 through the animation. Woo doggy, we can’t wait for y’all to see what’s comin’! We’ve been experimentin’ with some new special effects that’re makin’ the animation look so good, we’re committin’ to this bein’ the best episode we’ve produced yet! There’s new villains, more danger, and a sneak peek at the literal hell to come for our gang.
On a side note, once we’re done with this episode, we’re strongly considerin’ doin’ a Graphic Violence video for Michael Myers’s run of comics in time for the new Halloween flick. Don’t hold us to it just yet, but we do have everyone of his comics and just finished rereadin’ them for all the notes so we can start writin’ a script. From Myers’s original foray into the funny books to his last sequential killin’ spree, we’ll discuss each series’ stories and their significance to the Halloween movies and their different timelines.

Howdy there, Scream Freaks! Wanted to give y’all a shout out ’cause another week’s ’bout to slip by, and we don’t want ya thinkin’ we’ve forgotten ’bout ya with the recent boom of killer shark movies, Full Moon comic releases, and Puppet Master reboots bombardin’ us lately.
Speakin’ of which, many of ya have been askin’ for us to do a review of the newest Puppet Master flick since we reviewed every movie and comic of theirs so far, and we did just that. We didn’t have enough time to stop everythin’ and produce a full fledge video review, but we did publish the followin’ snack size review in our weekly R-Rated Review blog:
PUPPET MASTER: THE LITTLEST REICH (2018)
Decades after a Nazi toymaker named Toulon is gunned down by police for dealin’ in killer puppets and torture, fans of the macabre meet at a hotel convention to buy and sell the remainin’ puppets from his infamous collection. Before anyone can put in the first bid, however, Toulon speaks to his creations from the grave and commands them to kill anyone offendin’ the Third Reich’s sensibilities. Since the Puppet Master series has been stuck in World War II their last three movies, I can only guess this rowdy gang of Texan filmmakers got fed up and took it upon themselves to throw cash at Full Moon Empire for the right to reboot their favorite mascots for more modern mayhem. That said, I don’t mind the changes made to shake things up. Toulon’s and the puppets are just straight up evil with Toulon lookin’ like a cooked weenie, there’s no elixir, the puppets are mass produced with several versions of familiar faces in addition to a small army of new characters, and the gore is as over the top as the promos promise (though roughly executed at times). The biggest sour I have with this flick is its performances and editin’ which only musters as much energy as a Zoloft commercial, robbin’ this thing of any fun. And don’t expect the puppets to display any individual characteristics in this, ’cause they’re strictly home built weapons instead of reincarnated spirits of folks Toulon knew. Decapitations, impalements, stabbin’s, magic Nazi zombies, fatal freefalls, throats slittin’, disembowelment, inside out abortions through the vagina, fatties pissin’ on their own heads in the toilet, handful of boobs, folks drilled, arm rippin’, puppet smashin’, shoot outs, head crushin’, flyin’ puppets, murder house tours, human matchsticks, wall smashin’, baby doll Hitlers, human meat puppets, bloodbaths, rub-a-dub deaths, fast romances, truck rammin’, and Barbara Crampton sticks ’round most the movie as a bad ass cop! 3/5!
In other news, we got our claws on the first issue of Dollman Kills the Full Moon Universe featurin’ artwork by yours ghoully, and looks damn good if we say so ourselves. It feels wild to see our work in mass print from such a famous movie studio as Full Moon Empire and can’t wait to pick up the followin’ issues with more of our parody ad work, and issue three will even have an alternate cover by us! And speakin’ of comics, we mentioned a while back we had interest in producin’ a four part prequel comic to Screaming Soup! and that’s still in the works. We just finished roughin’ the blueprints for all four issues and ready to start the next step of actually drawin’ these crazy packed funny books of your favorite animated horror host. It may take a while given our team’s animatin’ the show at the same time, but we’re makin’ sure it’ll be worth the wait.
Right now, we’ve got our undivided attention back on completin’ our apocalyptic goat opera that’s currently season five. This next excitin’ episode will bring you more characters, bad guys, monsters, and we may even lose some of the cast as the Howl-Inn gang sets out to rescue Billy from becomin’ doomsday shish kabob. It’s sure to be one to remember and a real turnin’ point for what to expect the rest of this season as the show literally goes to hell.

Howdy there, Scream Freaks! The art is prepped, the next review is cut together, and we’re jumpin’ face first into the initial stages for animatin’ the next excitin’ episode of Screaming Soup! with the gang goin’ on a rescue mission to save Billy from the clutches of the Iron Horsemen of Doom. Jumpin’ jack-o-lanterns, these are some excitin’ times to tune into our show!
In the meantime, we’re pretty pumped for Full Moon Empire’s new comic scheduled for release next month, Dollman Kills the Full Moon Universe. The first comic series featurin’ Charlie Bands’ characters to be published in-house, this mini-series guarantees to be a tour de slaughter of glorious mayhem as Dollman, a 13″ alien cop with an attitude, makes it his mission to obliterate all evil off the face of the Earth includin’ the Demonic Toys, Killjoy, Castle Freak, and even the Puppet Master characters! With out own artwork makin’ it into the comics, we’ve just been burstin’ with excitement ’bout all this and decided it was time to revisit a review that’s long past due.
As of right now, we’re workin’ on an all new Graphic Violence video that will review the entire run of Puppet Master comics from the ’90s Eternity issues through Action Lab’s stint that just recently ended. We had plans for this durin’ our fourth season while we were still in the middle of our crossover with Full Moon, but the animation got to be so epic, we had to put this particular review on the backburner ’til now. Actually works out better this way, ’cause with Action Lab’s licensin’ contract ended, we can now give y’all a complete review of that particular series with foreshadowin’ at the puppet’s return in these Dollman comics. Howdy there, Scream Freaks! As you would have guessed it, things have been busy ’round our parts, and we’re hurryin’ as fast as we can to bring you the next excitin’ episode of Screaming Soup! Until then, there’s been plenty goin’ on behind the scenes we can’t wait to share with ya!
For starters, we can officially say we got one of the alternate covers for Full Moon Comix’ Dollman Kills the Full Moon Universe #3 due out ’round October! Yeehaw, that achievement feels real good, if we say so ourselves, and we can’t wait for y’all to see it along with the rest our work we did for them! For those of y’all keepin’ track, we got a page of art in the first and second issue, and now we’re one of the cover options for the third issue. So, if Dollman blowin’ up all your favorite Full Moon characters wasn’t enough incentive to buy the series already, now you know you’ll also be collectin’ artwork in these historic issues by us here at Screaming Soup!
All this excitement has definitely lit a fire under our asses to make more headway with our plans for a Screaming Soup! comic we mentioned a while back. It’s currently planned to be a four issue mini-series and will be a prequel that shares a few of our adventures in the Crosslands before settlin’ down at the Howl-Inn Grub and Spirits. We already have the plots figured out and started draftin’ page layouts which we just finished for the first issue. This goes against normal practice somewhat, but we’re gonna complete all four issues before hittin’ up potential publishers we have in mind for printin’ this series. We’re gonna make sure every issue is packed with humor, action, monsters, and content not already found in the show.
And while we’re on the topic of horror comics, be sure to swing by our latest reviews of what we’re readin’ on our Sequential Slime blog. There’s a lot of good horror movie tie-in comics hittin’ the racks right now, and we give ya our two cents on most of them issue by issue. We bitch ’bout the Army of Darkness/KISS crossover rehashin’ Raimi’s third Evil Dead flick for the umpteenth time, praise the latest Big Trouble in Little China mini-series, ride the fence on the brand spankin’ new books on Pumpkinhead and Jeepers Creepers, and fall into abysmal disappointment over Robocop’s latest storyline. Despite great artwork, it always comes down to story determinin’ how well these comics are received or not.
Before we forget, let us mention to ya we think the El Rey Network may have finally watched our Screaming Soup! submission for their animated edition of the People’s Network. We haven’t been officially notified or anythin’ yet, but we saw the YouTube views on that private video jumped a little which is GREAT, ’cause that means someone watched it at least three times. Fangs crossed that means one judge watched it and liked it enough to promote it ’round the office over there or somethin’. And if that weren’t enough excitement to keep us on the edge of our bar stool, we were remindin’ folks in a tweet ’bout our excitement over the return of legendary horror host Joe Bob Briggs on Shudder, and a fan replied with interest in seein’ the two of us in some kind of crossover. We fired back we have a script written for such a horrific ocassion, and Joe Bob directly hit us up wantin’ to read it! Toxic taco toadies, can you imagine the sonic boom thunderin’ ‘cross the lands from our heads explodin’ if somethin’ so surreal were to happen as Joe Bob Briggs doin’ a crossover with our show?!! Breath . . .

Howdy there, Scream Freaks! Long time, no see! Sorry for the black out period that may have left you thinkin’ we fell off the face of the graveyard, but we’re back now and ready and rearin’ to jump back in the saddle and get this rodeo movin’ again. For y’all who just gotta know what’s happenin’ on our side of the Crosslands, we’ve had a full plate. While still workin’ on the next excitin’ episode of Screaming Soup! (which will be a doomsday machine double feature by the way), we’ve been stickin’ our gnarled thumbs in other pies recently. That sounded dirtier than intended, didn’t it?
First off, we cut together pieces of past Screaming Soup! episodes to produce an adventure we could submit to the El Rey Network, better known as Robert Rodriquez’s cable channel. See, every so often El Rey features somethin’ called the People’s Network Showcase which broadcasts a handful of submitted works by filmmakers and artists on the rise. The point is to help get these creative folks exposure so fans and talent hungry companies alike can discover them and hopefully boost their career one way or another. Along with horror, suspense, and action showcases, the People’s Network also has an animated category which promotes all kinds of animators from stop-motion and CGI to 2D animation and still pictures . After watchin’ the latest animation showcase and seein’ El Rey’s lookin’ to round up enough content for a third round at their site right now, we couldn’t pass up another opportunity and made the time to enter our show. If it gets picked, we’ll tell ya right now, there’s no review. It’s strictly an animated adventure with your favorite gang from the Howl-Inn Grub & Spirits, ’cause we don’t wanna be disqualified for too long a runnin’ time or for includin’ copyrighted content they may be uncomfortable broadcastin’ despite the fair use laws. This was submitted a short time ago, so fangs crossed we’ll get some national exposure soon!
We also took a whole weekend to invite a bunch of our posse back to record dialogue for future Screaming Soup! episodes which have now been written through Season 7. It was a lot of fun to see some returnin’ faces along with new talent which ran the full gamut of actin’ from stage and film actors to newbies and folks who doubled for Bruce Willis and James Woods back in the day. Most the recordings went really well, but there were some actors who needed a little more work with the characters we’d randomly throw at them to voice, makin’ for some hilarious bloopers we need to share sometime.
Lastly, we’re still gung-ho about the idea of a Screaming Soup! comic book now that we’re armed with the knowledge it’s highly probable it could be picked up by one of these smaller publishers we’ve been noticin’ at the comic shops. We definitely have a three issue mini-series locked down as far as plot and story are concerned, we just need to start fillin’ in the details and puttin’ art to paper at this point. In other comic news, we deserve a big ol’ pat on the back ’cause one of our original drawin’s will be appearin’ in Full Moon Comix’s first publication, Dollman Kills the Full Moon Universe! Wooo-doggy, right?! Yessir, thanks to the connections we made with the fine folks over at Full Moon Empire, we luckily pitched the right kind of Full Moon artwork to them and was hired to work with author/screen writer Brockton McKinney in bringin’ it to print. We don’t wanna reveal too much about it, but we will say it’s a parody of those ol’ gag ads we use to see all the time in comics when you could still buy x-ray specs and tanks in the mail.

Howdy there, Scream Freaks! Another week and still waitin’ for the next episode. We tell ya, we don’t know how ya manage to be so patient! We’re comin’ much closer to wrappin’ up the animation of episode 43, and fangs crossed we’ll get it out to you sometime next week, and you’ll see why it’s worth the wait. Guest stars, larger than life monsters, non-stop action, and an all out review . . . no wonder it’s takin’ us a little more time to animate!
Regardin’ other projects, things are progressin’ nicely. We think we finally have a magazine publication that will feature an article on our show, we’ve completed some treatments for that mini-series we mentioned wantin’ to do for a Screaming Soup! comic, and got the first drafts for our seventh season written. And if you haven’t heard, our buddy Charlie at Full Moon Empire has decided to publish his own Full Moon comix startin’ with an awesome mini-series called Dollman Kills the Full Moon Universe. Pretty epic, right? And since we’re artists with a whole slew of Full Moon artwork from last season, we gotta see if we can twist some arms into squeezin’ our own masterpieces in these upcomin’ issues as pin-ups or back covers. We’ll regret it if we don’t try, you know?
And on a side note, we saw the latest animation showcase on Robert Rodríguezes’ El Rey Network and got more fired up than ever to submit a Screaming Soup! short for possible syndication. If you never heard of it, Robert asks filmmakers to submit their work to El Rey Network through his channel’s website, and the fans pick and choose their favorites to be featured in what they call the People’s Showcase. Winners are flown to his studio ranch in Texas and interviewed for TV spots that introduces their works as part of themed collections rangin’ from horror to suspense and animation. We have some ideas for what we’ll be submittin’, but more on that later.
Just a reminder our special guests on this next episode will be The Homicidal Homemaker and Janet Decay and Grim Gori from The Mummy and the Monkey Show.
