SCREAMING AT TROMAGGOTS VS SHRUNKEN HEADS!

Howdy there, Scream Freaks! Today is one momentous occasion as we crack open a big ol’ toxic barrel of sci-fi whoop-ass in our most ambitious season yet, Troma vs Full Moon! Yessir, it’s east coast vs west coast, mutants vs aliens, no budget vs more budget as B movies’ last warriors go toe to toe in this fantasy mash-up with your favorite animated horror host reffing the whole shebang!

This premier episode, we’re warmin’ up with reviews of some lesser known movies from Troma and Full Moon, Attack of the Tromaggot and Shrunken Heads. Both are pretty unique films from the warped imaginations of composer Danny Elfman’s brother and kids from Berlin, offerin’ plenty of what the fuck moments, monsters, and craziness you gotta see! We also need to give a HUGE shout out to Charles Band for Full Moon’s support for this event and goin’ as far as givin’ us some cameos to pepper in this season. We’re still workin’ on swingin’ some cameos from Lloyd Kaufman, but Troma’s involvement has unfortunately gone back into limbo for the foreseeable future at this time. Sucks, we know.

Reminder reruns of our show will premier on Beta Max TV 1/21/17 at 8pm durin’ a livestream line-up of horror host shows, and then we’ll be added to their video on demand section ’til the next scheduled rerun. Our first appearance on The Vortexx was this past Wednesday and went well, so we’ll continue bein’ in their scheduled line-up as well. Definitely check these channels out and enjoy some of the talent we’re joinin’ like the Mummy and the Monkey, My Gal the Zombie, and the Cinema Snob.

Other than that, catch up on all past Screaming Soup! Seasons, check out this week’s Howl’n Hottie, read recent reviews for the newer horror films we’re watching in our R-Rated Reviews blog, and help us get the word out about the web’s #1 animated horror host show! Please use our social buttons in the upper right corner of the site and follow our tweets, subscribe to our Youtube channel, like our Facebook, watch and share all our vids, and keep that fan mail coming.

If you need the hook-up with instant Troma and Full Moon movies, we’d suggest watching Troma’s films at Troma Now and their Youtube channel, and you can get full access to Full Moon’s catalog of work from their movies to their Videozone clips at Full Moon Streaming and their Amazon channel.

SCREAMING AT THE COUNTDOWN TO SEASON 4!

Howdy there, Scream Freaks! Our claws are shakin’, nervous sweat’s runnin’ down our gnarled faces, and our skin’s literally crawlin’ with excitement as we watch the clock tick down the final days before we open a whole can of animated mayhem with our epic new season, Troma vs Full Moon!

Things are in overdrive at Screaming Soup! headquarters as 2017 promises to be a BIG year for the show! Obviously, one big reason for that is the Troma vs Full Moon fight premierin’ 1/20/17.  This war is somethin’ horror/sci-fi fans like ourselves have wanted to see for a looong time and is sure to stir up fans of both film houses like never before. It’s even more excitin’ with Full Moon and Troma throwin’ their support behind the fun, givin’ us the thumbs up to go crazy. And if that weren’t cool enough, head honchos Charles Band and Lloyd Kaufman are gracious enough to film some cameo footage for us to pepper in the whole shebang. How freakin’ awesome is that?!

Other plans we have in the works for this year is hittin’ up different programs for Screaming Soup! to join in the hopes of reaching a wider audience. As of this week, we’ve been accepted by not one but two new families of like minded horror hosts! Weekly reruns of Screaming Soup! seasons 1-3 can now be seen on Beta Max TV and Sluggo’s The Vortexx which are pretty happenin’ channels full of demented content. Our Beta Max TV premier will be 1/21/17 at 8pm durin’ a livestream line-up of horror host shows, and then we’ll be added to their video on demand section ’til the next scheduled rerun. Our first appearance on The Vortexx is scheduled for 1/18/17 sometime from 10:30pm-11pm. Definitely check out the channels ahead of time and enjoy some of the talent we’ll be joinin’ like the Mummy and the Monkey along with the Cinema Snob.

Other than that, be sure to watch our epic Season 3 finale with our review of the Basket Case trilogy that has a snippet of Full Moon vs Troma action in it, catch up on all past Screaming Soup!

If you wanna get a jumpstart on everything there is to know about Troma or Full Moon before then, we’d suggest watching Troma’s films at Troma Now and their Youtube channel, and you can get full access to Full Moon’s catalog of work from their movies to their Videozone clips at Full Moon Streaming.

SCREAMING AT 2017!

Howdy there, Scream Freaks! Comin’ to the end of 2017’s first week, and we’re eagerly warmin’ up for this season of Screaming Soup! as our favorite indie film companies Full Moon Features and Troma Entertainment go head to head in an all out animated brawl that’s sure to entertain!

Our first Howl’n Hottie of the Week for 2017 is Jacqueline Lovell from Full Moon’s Killer Eye, we’re watchin’ some more Troma flicks on their official Youtube channel for some new R-Rated Reviews, and startin’ to leak some sneak peeks through our social media of the what some of your favorite characters will look like animated! Even better is Full Moon’s involvement which will include some cameos by the emperor himself, Charles Band!

There’s so much goin’ on and so much to do, we’re still thinkin’ there won’t be any time for the secondary vids we normally produce in addition to the regular season, but we’re hopin’ to catch up by mid-season so we can get in a Re-Animated Review of the Toxic Crusaders cartoon and a Graphic Violence review of the Puppet Master comics. Can’t guarantee anything just yet, but we’re tryin’!

Since we’re still puttin’ together some of the episodes for this upcomin’ season, give us a scream and let us know which of your Full Moon and Troma characters you really want to see in these episodes. You might be surprised who we already have planned and even learn about others from movies you never knew existed!

Other than that, be sure to watch our epic Season 3 finale with our review of the Basket Case trilogy that has a snippet of Full Moon vs Troma action in it, catch up on all past Screaming Soup! Seasons, check out this week’s Howl’n Hottie, read recent reviews for the newer horror films we’re watching in our R-Rated Reviews blog, and help us get the word out about the web’s #1 animated horror host show! If you wanna get a jumpstart on everything there is to know about Troma or Full Moon before then, I’d suggest watching most of Troma’s films for free on their Youtube channel, and you can get full access to Full Moon’s catalog of work from their movies to their Videozone clips at Full Moon Streaming.

SCREAMING AT THE END OF 2016!

Howdy there, Scream Freaks! Hope ya had a memorable Christmas for all the right reasons and got some loot to boot under that fire hazard propped up in the corner of your home. We came out all right. Avoided a Krampus beatin’ and got some sweet gifts rangin’ from a year’s subscription to our favorite horror rag, Horror Hound Magazine, a book on historically acclaimed horror hosts, and a new pair of britches!

2016’s been a good year and things are only gonna get bigger and better in 2017 with the whole Troma vs Full Moon season we got in the works for ya. A whole season dedicated to two of our favorite indie film companies, and it’s all for you! 10 episodes pitting Full Moon reviews against Troma reviews. 52 new Howl’n Hotties of Tromettes and Full Moon bimbos. And weekly R-Rated Reviews of all the Full Moon and Troma movies we didn’t include in the regular animated season.

All of this will kick off as soon as next week, but the first episode won’t premier until 1/20/17. We can’t wait!

Before we forget, we added more character bios for Papa Kaka and Emotibot for those who care, and wish you a screaming New Year! We know ya’ll will surely renew that resolution to watch more horror flicks and Screaming Soup!

Other than that, be sure to watch our epic Season 3 finale with our review of the Basket Case trilogy while having our final showdown with Buzzkill, catch up on all past Screaming Soup! Seasons, check out this week’s Howl’n Hottie, read recent reviews for the newer horror films we’re watching in our R-Rated Reviews blog, and help us get the word out about the web’s #1 animated horror host show! SCREAMING AT CHRISTMAS HORROR FILMS!

Howdy there, Scream Freaks! Christmas is closing in on us once again, but it’s okay, because everyone’s been preparing for it since September! And while there’s those snuggled in their eyesore homes, eagerly waiting for their annual holiday viewing of the Grinch or Elf, we know you’re spikin’ that ‘nog and poppin’ in something a little scarier. From killer Santas to mutant snowmen, plenty of Christmas lores have been twisted into some form of sick horror entertainment, and we’ve seen our fair share of it!

In the spirit of a Christmas to dismember, we decided to share with you a small list of Christmas horror movies we think are worth your time as you count down the nights ’til you can rip those gifts out from under that tree. They have strong Christmas themes in them from the killers to the music and settings, just enough to keep you in the spirit of the season . . .

z01JACK FROST (1996)

Not the young’ns’ version with Michael Keaton resurrected as a friendly snowman, but the adult version with a fugitive serial killer transformed into living snow like a comic book villain. Known for its scene with him raping Shannon Elizabeth in the shower with his carrot nose! 4/5!

z02ELVES (1989)

TV’s Grizzly Adams plays a mall Santa fighting Nazis and their elaborate plans for world domination with a killer rubber elf. 3/5!

z09SANTA’S SLAY (2005)

Wrestling’s Goldberg gives his greatest performance as a Krampus-like Santa who tears through a small town in search of the angel who cursed him to deliver gifts to good youngn’s for a millennia. Nothing but sick Christmas fun here with great characters, hell deer, strip clubs, stop-motion flashbacks, and over the top kills with one of the best opening scenes you’ll ever see! 5/5!

z11KRAMPUS (2015)

The best Krampus movie by-far, this hits all the right notes from the humor to the fear,  giving off a very Spielberg vibe. Great story, loveable cast, awesome monsters, disturbing scenes . . . we think Krampus looks too much like a deformed wizard but eh – can’t have everything we guess! 5/5!

z03BLACK CHRISTMAS (2006)

The original Black Christmas was creepier with its unexplained killer, but we enjoy this remake because it treats the killer like a Batman villain with his discolored skin, fucked up origin story, and escape from an insane asylum. Doesn’t hurt there’s plenty of eye candy as well, like Katie Cassidy and Michelle Trachtenberg. 4/5!

z06SILENT NIGHT DEADLY NIGHT 5: THE TOY MAKER (1991)

This film only made our list because of how unexpected it is at times, searing bizarre images in our brain we’ll never forget. A toy maker and his son are terrorizing families with killer toys, and one particular family becomes their target because they’re living in their old house they lost due to hard times. Most memorable scene is when one particular toy tries bangin’ the mom toward the end. 3/5!

z08GREMLINS (1984)

Do I really need to explain this one? A son gets a magic critter for Christmas that accidentally spawns nastier critters that run amok, ruining everyone’s Christmas in a small town. 5/5!

z07SILENT NIGHT (2012)

A reboot for the Silent Night Deadly Night series, this version focuses on a hot cop looking for a killer Santa in a festival of St. Nicks. Good actors, slick cinematography, and Malcolm McDowell spits lines worthy of t-shirts and fridge magnets. 4/5!

z10PUPPET MASTER VS DEMONIC TOYS (2004)

In a moment of weakness, Full Moon let the Sci-fi Channel play with their toys and this guilty pleasure happened. It’s a suck-ass Puppet Master sequel but a fun Demonic Toys story with them trying to take over the world Christmas Day unless the puppets can stop them with new robot upgrades. 3/5!

z04SILENT NIGHT DEADLY NIGHT (1984)

Our favorite Christmas horror film, we watch this every Christmas Eve before hitting the dirt! It’s ’80s, it’s vicious, it tells the story from the killer’s point of view, and you get Scream Queen Linnea Quigley killed topless! Win win! 5/5!

And there you have it. Our favorite holiday horrors to roast your chestnuts over. While they’re not at the very top of our favorites list, we will mention other Christmas horror films worth watching for your sick pleasure like Don’t Open ’til Christmas, Black Christmas (1974), Santa Clause Conquers the Martians, All Through the House, Scrooged, Christmas Horror Story, Santa Klaws, Maniac Cop 2, and Rare Exports. And if you’re really digging deep for more yuletide punishment, I’ll give you fair warning to avoid flops like Silent Night Deadly Night 3-4, Blood Beat, Silent Night Bloody Night, and Krampus 1-2 (2013 & 2016).

Other than that, be sure to watch our epic Season 3 finale with our review of the Basket Case trilogy while having our final showdown with Buzzkill, catch up on all past Screaming Soup! SCREAMING AT SEASON 4 UPDATES!

Howdy there, Scream Freaks! Been awhile since our last blog, but when you come down with a bad case of booger lips, it’s best to lay yourself to rest and do nothin’ for awhile. But we’re fully rested now with a few more horror movie reviews under our belt and jumpin’ back in the saddle to prepare the way for Screaming Soup! Season 4.

If you haven’t forgotten, we wrapped up season 3 with a pretty big promise to bring you the battle horror/sci-fi fans have wanted for decades – Troma vs Full Moon! We’ll be reviewing over 30 of your favorite mutant meltdown movies against your top alien flicks, bring back a lot of familiar faces with the magic of animation, and will even feature the involvement of the wizard from the west, Charles Band! Yessir, we reached out to the Full Moon legend himself for an official blessing over this endeavor of ours, and he was very excited by what he saw in the demo we showed him. With everything starting to come together, this will no doubt be our biggest season yet!

If you wanna get a jumpstart on everything there is to know about Troma or Full Moon before then, I’d suggest watching most of Troma’s films on their Youtube channel, and you can get full access to Full Moon’s catalog of work from their movies to their Videozone clips at Full Moon Streaming.

SCREAMING AT BIG FANDOM GREENVILLE!

Howdy there, Scream Freaks! The weekend is here and Screaming Soup! is making its first convention appearance at the grand opening of Big Fandom Greenville, a 3 day event in the Carolinas celebrating any and all genres of entertainment. We unfortunately haven’t been able to pull together the resources yet for building the set up we want for a Screaming Soup! booth, so we won’t be a regular on the con floor, but still excited to be included in a number of scary panels we helped set-up for horror fans at the con.

Tonight, we’re hosting a panel of talented horror filmmakers from the Carolinas from 8-9, and return to host a different panel tomorrow night from 7-8, spotlighting Graphic Headstone alum, horror comic artists Mitch Rogers and Gregbo Watson! Both panels are going to be very exciting with a plethora of monstrous movie clips, artwork, and in-depth questions regarding the challenges working in such popular forms of entertainment.

But most importantly, we’re giving a special Screaming Soup! presentation from 8-9 following the horror comic panel, sharing the origin story of how our show was conceived. We’ll share our creator’s background, the show’s influences, our favorite clips from past seasons, reasons behind the creative decisions made throughout the series, and be joined by some of the voices behind the characters! If you can make it, great, if not, then we’ll tell you how it went in next week’s blog.

For more info on the con, please visit Big Fandom Greenville.

SCREAMING AT SEASON 4!

Howdy there, Scream Freaks! Right out of Halloween and more holidays are rearin’ to smack us square in the face ’round the corner! Elections, Veterans, Thanksgiving, and then it’ll too late when you finally remember ol’ Krampus is coming to town. Works in our favor, though, because it gives us some extra time to tackle more of this upcoming season that’s the most ambitious thing the show’s ever taken on. If you saw the ending to season 3, then you know what we’re talking about . . . Troma vs Full Moon!

Yessir, we’re long time fans of both companies and have seen horror lovers try to arrange entertaining battles between the 2 independent goliaths for years, but never with a lot of success. With our imagination being our only limitation, we couldn’t think of any reason why we shouldn’t jump all over this idea and give ourselves and fans something we’ve dreamed of seeing for a long time. We’re talking everything from the Toxic Crusaders to Toulon’s puppets just beating the dog shit out of each other and our favorite gang of animated horror hosts stuck in the middle as refs trying to protect the Howl-Inn Grub & Spirits in the crossfire. It’s definitely a lot of work animating 2 armies going to war, and may even require us to put the secondary vids like Graphic Violence and Reanimated Reviews on the backburner, but it’ll be worth it.

Even more exciting, we’re currently talking with Full Moon and Troma to get them officially involved in the war, and things look promising. More to be announced as things become more concrete with that arrangement!

Another reminder, we’ll be making our first convention appearance as panelist at Big Fandom Greenville. We’ll be hosting panel discussions with some horror filmmakers and independent comic creators in the Carolinas and then talk for an hour about Screaming Soup! Nov.19 at 8pm. We wish it could be our first official booth appearance, but that dream is still in the works until we raise the finances needed to make it everything we envision.

SCREAMING AT HALLOWEEN ’16!

Howdy there, Scream Freaks! Halloween is finally here, but it feels late to its own party after a party filled weekend of bobbing for grenades, black cat tosses, and mummy rap offs. The most exciting thing we saw was a drunk penguin threatening to kill party guests for a complimentary t-shirt. Long story short . . . he got one! Following such a crazy few days, maybe the best way to close out the holiday is simply opening a cold one, throw back some hard earned candy, tune in to a tried and true horror favorite with friends and loved ones, and watch the final flicker of the remaining jack’o lanterns die out.

Or you can pull on a different costume, hit up the same houses for more candy, crash a party, and keep your fangs crosses one of them slutty cat girls will spend one of their nine lives with ya. If that’s the case, be safe, don’t blow your nose in the wind, check under the bed, and for Craven’s sake, make sure that’s who you think it is under that mask!

Other than that, be sure to watch our epic Season 3 finale with our review of the Basket Case trilogy while having our final showdown with Buzzkill, shoot someone one of our Halloween Eeeh!-Cards, catch up on Screaming Soup! Seasons 1-3, check out this week’s Howl’n Hottie, read recent reviews for the newer horror films we’re watching in our R-Rated Reviews blog, and help us get the word out about the web’s #1 animated horror host show! SCREAMING AT THE HALLOWEEN WEEKEND!

Howdy there, Scream Freaks! While we already had our Halloween blow-out with the duel of the afterlife, your spooky weekend is just beginning and sure to be full of mischievous fun guaranteed to haunt you the rest of your days. Cavity candies, slutty costumes, party prizes, ghoulish games . . . evil clowns. We’re sure you’ll have fun!

In the meantime, we’re gearing up for the weekend ourselves and moving fast to prep for Screaming Soup! Season 4 (premiering 1/20/17). We’re animating ’til our bones break and still in talks with key individuals for making sure Troma vs Full Moon is as epic as we can make it! But more about that later. For now, we’re poppin’ candy, double fistin’ a couple of cold ones, and chillin’ out to our favorite horror flicks and tunes while strategizing the best parties to go to the next few days.

We’re also happy to announce we’ll be attending our first convention next month, Big Fandom Greenville. We don’t have our dream booth built yet, so don’t get too excited, but we will be attending multiple panels, hosting discussions about various horror topics which include Screaming Soup! Looking forward to that and wrangling in several of the fine folk who make our show a success.

Other than that, be sure to catch up on Screaming Soup! Seasons 1-3 after watching the latest Season 3 episodes, check out this week’s Howl’n Hottie, read recent reviews for the newer horror films we’re watching in our R-Rated Reviews blog, and help us get the word out about the web’s #1 animated horror host show! Please use our social buttons in the upper right corner of the site and follow our tweets, subscribe to our Youtube channel, like our Facebook, watch and share all our vids, and keep that fan mail coming.

We’ll see ya later, Scream Freaks! Be safe and happy early Halloween!
