SCREAMING AT MONSTER DOG & INTERVIEWS!

Howdy there, Scream Freaks! Whoo doggy, it’s been one busy week so far, but we ain’t tired yet.

To kick this shindig off, we have an all new episode of Screaming Soup! for ya that’s a rocking celebration of the one and forever awesome Alice Cooper! Fuck 11, we’re jamming our Howl-Inn jukebox to freak’n 12 and enjoying some of Alice’s most memorable tunes while reviewing his 80’s horror flick, “Monster Dog.” Full of music, laughs, and glam rock werewolves, we’re sure you’ll enjoy this obscure treasure we stumbled across.

And if you’re interested, Tommy Finton of Youtube’s “Tommy Talks” has just conducted the first publically released video interview with us here at Screaming Soup! and spends an hour chatting with us about Screaming Soup’s inspirations, goals, and general opinion on the horror genre. Tommy’s been a real pleasure to meet, and we’ll be tuned in to see him guest on Comedy Central’s “Tosh.O” Tuesday 5/5/15 at 10pm EST. You can check out his Youtube channel HERE.

SCREAMING AT WEB SHOW PROMOTIONS!

Howdy there, Scream Freaks! So, we’re about 1/3 through the second season already and decided to take a brief break from working on the show to try and build the audience who all this hard work is for. After trials and errors with passing out business cards and posting our content on various social media sites, we learned the web is a beautiful but delicate mistress. It can be a means to a successful end when you find your pleasantly receptive audience, but can dish out a passive aggressive lashing on the turn of a dime for any seemingly offensive transgression.

Luckily, we’ve been met with more positive reactions than anything else, but aren’t above a simple apology to anyone who feels we may have overstepped any boundaries. One of our more successful means of reaching new viewers lately has been the old school method of door to door advertising on Twitter. A couple of offended people have labeled these attempts spamming, but we’re actually combing the horror community for specific people who look/sound like they would enjoy animated monster characters celebrating horror movies and sending them an invitation to check the show out. We’ve been looking at a LOT of people and aren’t keeping a list as we go, so we do apologize to those who may have received an invitation more than once. We’re not being aggressive so much as just ignorant we already invited you. For that we’re sorry. Remember we follow back anyone who follows us on Twitter, and if you’ve subscribed to our Youtube channel, let us know if you have one to and we’ll sub back.

Other than that, be sure to catch up on all the latest Screaming Soup! episodes so far for season 2 and watch for an all new Screaming Soup! review coming Monday 4/20/15 where we’ll scream a rocking tribute to Alice Cooper! SCREAMING AT LEPRECHAUN COMICS!

Howdy there, Scream Freaks! St. Patrick’s Day is a blurry haze of a blacked out memory for most by now, but the after image of Warwick Davis’ sneering face continues to fester in my noggin after watching him in the annual Leprechaun marathons on TV. I don’t know when we’ll get around to reviewing this offbeat series that constantly reinvents itself with every movie installment, but a new Graphic Violence is long overdue and is perfect for expanding horror fan’s knowledge of the franchise. That’s right, this little guy dipped his deformed Irish toes into the inky waters of the comic book world a couple of times with stories that could be argued as either true to the genre jumping munchkin or a stupefying fail to horror fanatics everywhere! Just watch the newest Graphic Violence review below!

SCREAMING AT MORE CONVENTIONS!

Howdy there, Scream Freaks! Wow, this year is flying by so fast we can hardly believe it! In fact, we almost forgot last week was the Mad Monster Party and shot over there in a hurry! Before we knew it, we were elbows deep in a whole slew of talented people and familiar actors. We witnessed the voice of the Crypt Keeper (John Kassir) in action, Adam West and Burt Ward (Batman) team up for a dynamic panel discussion, and learned Amanda Bearse (Marcy from “Married With Children”) is the nicest person to talk with. Aside from buying some more horror DVDs to add to the ever growing list of trash to trash, we also met with some exciting artists we hope to interview for future Graphic Headstone blogs.

But why wait until then? Here’s some creative people we’ve run into who have some exemplary work we feel the whole world should be made aware of. From left to right you have 1)Dave Berns,  2) The “Bloke’s Terrible Tomb of Terror” publication, 3) Pizza Party Printing, and 4) Morgan Wilson’s Lux Nova Studio. Just click on the image to visit their Facebook pages and check out their work.

SCREAMING AT CONVENTIONS!

Howdy there, Scream Freaks! As Jack Frost loosens his icy grip on us, we prepare for what’s sure to be a fun and exciting season. Now, check the boogey board and sunscreen there, I’m talking about the season of conventions! Yessir, like pop culture weeds popping up all over the world, now is the time for clicks of special individuals to come together and celebrate their favorite forms of entertainment in every way imaginable . . . and unimaginable! This is the key time for fans of cartoons, larping, ponies, video games, and comics to realize they’re not alone in their obsession and add numbers to rapidly growing cults.

We of course have plans for Screaming Soup! hitting the convention circuit in the near future, but we want to make sure we have plenty of content to share before throwing ourselves at the feet of the public for love and acceptance as the future of horror hosting. That’s not to say we’re not doing our homework, however! We’ve been walking the beat and gett’n an eyeful of plenty of hungry up and coming acts trying to get the word out about themselves. Sadly, some of these people don’t know the first thing about selling themselves or their ideas. We’ve approached talents with all the interest one could muster for hearing their story, but they would fumble horribly with indifferent reactions, mumbling, and describing their works in the most broad and boring ways possible! Believe in your work and convince me it’s worth buying, numb nuts! Don’t hide quietly behind the table and think your art is enough to speak on its own. Stand up, smile, and interact for fuck’s sake!

With that being said, here’s some creative people we’ve run into who’ve done just that and have some exemplary work we feel the whole world should be made aware of; Noel Saabye, J.R. Mounts, Aaron Hazouri, Michael Gordon, Neil Lee Griffin, and Ethan and Rachel Mongin.

SCREAMING AT SATAN’S LITTLE HELPER!

Howdy there, Scream Freaks! Today’s the 20th, and you know what that means. New Screaming Soup! episode! Season 2 is still cooking with fire as we review one of our personal favorites that we discovered just a few short years ago, “Satan’s Little Helper.” Another example of an under celebrated horror villain we want to get the word out for, this surprise of a movie has it all with good story, hot girls, and a wildly entertaining slasher. But why am I telling you about this here? Play the video below and enjoy watching our review! Images from this episode have been added to our gallery.
