SCREAMING AT TIKTOK AND TOYLANTA!

Howdy there, Scream Freaks! Summer’s upon us, and what better way to beat the heat than stayin’ inside with the AC on full blast while throwin’ back some cold ones with the web’s #1 animated horror host show on yer idiot box? Of course, we can’t cool our heels ’round Screaming Soup! headquarters, ’cause providin’ top shelf entertainment is a full time gig!

First HUGE update — we’re on TikTok! Yessir, we told ya we’ve been takin’ time to learn 3D avatar programs fer VTubin’, and that investment’s payin’ off big time. Takin’ out two vultures with one laser blast, we now have the quick and easy luxury of pumpin’ out alotta bite size reviews that can serve as short content fer the TikTok crowd while satisfyin’ y’all’s appetite fer more of yer favorite animated horror host show ‘tween regular episodes. With a new vid every day, we’ve already amassed a pretty extensive catalogue o’ reviews on TikTok that covers our critiques on everythin’ from ’50s B movies to today’s modern horror flicks, and we’re just gettin’ started. So, if yer on the platform, give us a follow on our TikTok account and enjoy a daily dose of animated criticism while we help ya beef up yer movie knowledge of what all’s out there. For y’all who ain’t on TikTok — we got ya covered. Three times a week at noon on the dot (Monday, Wednesday, Friday EST) we’re postin’ our two cents o’ the most recent horror flicks hittin’ theaters and streamin’ as shorts on our YouTube channel, with ’em all compiled in one convenient playlist HERE.

In other follow-ups, thanks to all y’all who managed to come out and see us at Toylanta in Duluth, Georgia this past March. We were invited to be Toylanta’s official announcers with our own booth space fer promotin’ our show and had a howlin’ good time networkin’ with lotta indie toy companies, huntin’ fer additions to our personal collections in an endless sea of plastic playthangs, and minglin’ with some cool talents from Hollyweird. One of the funniest guests we met over the weekend was John Anderson, a cool fella who left his career as a Publix produce manager to pursue actin’, and has now been in everythin’ from Godzilla to Marvel movies by simple word of mouth which we think is an amazin’ story! Check him at on Instagram (@brotherjohn1701) and give his Trick Talking Meat podcast a listen.

Speakin’ o’ conventions, our next public appearance will be as the official announcers of the first ever Retro-Horror Con! Slammin’ the best of two worlds together in a giddy sandwich, toy enthusiasts and horror fans alike will gather over some of the most monstrous toys and collectibles this side of the Mississippi and in the company of such horror hall-o-famers as Roger Jackson (Scream 1-6), Derek Mears (Friday the 13th), Bill Johnson (Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2), Alex Vincent (Child’s Play 1-2), Jonathan Breck (Jeepers Creepers 1-3), David Naughton (An American Werewolf in London), Allan Trautman (Return of the Living Dead), and Judith O’Dea (Night of the Living Dead). Sponsored by our amigos at Toy Federation, mark yer calendars fer September 5-7, 2025 and don’t miss yer chance for unforgettable VIP celebrity dinners, lobby swappin’, toy huntin’, and hangin’ with Screaming Soup! of course! Special rate tickets on sale now!

Lastly, our amigo Mojo El Diablo has once ‘gain featured us in an article of his twistedly stellar publication, Lost Anarchy Multi-Media Pulp Magazine. Pickin’ our noodles over some of the latest horror flicks and upcomin’ plans fer Halloween, his latest issue isn’t one to miss. Especially with cover to cover offerings of original comics, hard rock articles, and butt naked centerfolds! Not to mention there’s a sneak peek at our next next episode which will be a double feature of operatic disharmony. Hit ’em up fer a physical copy in the mail or visit their Website as well as their YouTube channel.

SCREAMING AT COMPUTERS, CONS, AND CARTOONS!

Howdy there, Scream Freaks! They say time flies when yer havin’ fun, but the same can be said when ya suddenly find yerself dogpiled by a buncha cool projects, too. Yessir, thanks to our popularity as the web’s #1 animated horror host show, we’ve been fortunate ‘nough to have many a door opened fer us over the years, and opportunities have been knockin’ left and right since our last post!

As fast as you can spit hot grits, we’ve been recruited to work behind the scenes of two different YouTubers’ podcasts, drawin’ up a storm o’ concept art fer an up and comin’ business’s original line of action figures (not of Screaming Soup!, sorry), and was lucky ‘nough to have a meetin’ with a big time media consultant from Hollywood on how to level up Screaming Soup!’s value as a marketable brand. They’re professional top dollar opinion is that we’re doin’ all anyone can do to produce a noteworthy show, we just gotta raise awareness and grow the fan base to back its worth. That said, we hit ‘nother momentary pause in our show’s production to seek fundin’ fer a media blitz we hope pays off sooner than later. With any luck, y’all be seein’ attention grabbin’ ads fer Screaming Soup! plastered ‘cross every bit o’ horror related entertainment this time next year!

Speakin’ o’ marketin’, ya may recall us mentionin’ we were takin’ a breather from animatin’ the show to illustrate some new promotional art, and these poster worthy masterpieces we whipped up have doubled as designs for potential Screaming Soup! goods we’d love to see someday. Gaugin’ y’all’s reactions through social media posts, it’s pretty clear the thought o’ Screaming Soup! video games and lunchboxes gets ya the most excited with colorin’ books and stickers not too far behind. Kinda makes us rethink the Screaming Soup! Shrinky Dinks, but what do we know? We wanna make a collection o’ Screaming Soup! pogs! (See what all we’ve come up with at the bottom of our MERCH page)

In the meantime, there is one new piece of actual Screaming Soup! merch ready for y’all to enjoy! Our show’s current genius of a hoedown maestro (and voice of Count Ted) Neil Lee Griffin has collected all his original tunes from the first half of our sixth season and made it available to listen to in one knee slappin’ volume. For the first time ever, our music can be yer go-to soundtrack fer everyday events as ya feel yourself transported to the Wild Weird West with 13 excitin’ tracks that include our beltin’ anthem. Listen HERE or at YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Music!

‘Nother show related item we’re thinkin’ ’bout — what would y’all think if we self-publish one or two Screaming Soup! choose-yer-adventure type books? You ‘member these, right? Those paperback adventures that quiz the reader every few pages with multiple choice decisions that steer the story in all kinda fatal predicaments? With everythang we got goin’ on, it seems like a smart move fer gettin’ more quality content out with the least ‘mount of time consumin’ effort. After all, when ya take the time to break one o’ these literary gimmicks down by its word count and limited use of artwork, it’s actually light years faster to write and draw than a full blown novel or comic book. It’d at least be somethin’ else fer us to check off our bucket list.

Speakin’ of producin’ thangs more efficiently, we’re also workin’ on a means of bein’ front and center with you Scream Freaks more often. After years animatin’ the entirety of our show so far with Adobe CS3 Suite on a barbaric computer runnin’ Windows 7, our needs have finally outgrown the capability of our hardware, and we were recently forced to upgrade. Thanks to the support of you Scream Freaks through Patreon and sales of our Screaming Soup! Fan Club Kits makin’ that possible, this was a smooth transition, and we’re workin’ with all the latest doo-dads an animation studio could want now. We’ve been havin’ to relearn the editin’ software a bit given we’re catapultin’ from Adobe Premiere 3 to 25, but we’re quickly pickin’ up speed as we work on the next episode of Screaming Soup! The best part, however, is the new computer allows us to play with software we couldn’t run ‘fore, and the most excitin’ one is a 3D program that creates original avatars for vtubin’. That said, we’re pourin’ all our energy at the moment into learnin’ how to rig a camera ready avatar of your favorite animated horror host fer mini movie reviews that can fill the time ‘tween regular Screaming Soup! episodes. We’re aimin’ to have that finished and in use within the next month, so we’re pretty excited ’bout it, and know y’all will be thrilled to see weekly vids from us!

And if ya didn’t know already, it’s that time o’ year ‘gain fer the Horror Addict‘s annual Ahh Scares when they present awards for the best in last year’s horror entertainment from movies and books to hotties and on screen kills. Yours truly has been asked to present the best in animated horror as always, and we’re always thrilled to do it. Check our segment out HERE or watch the whole shebang o’ an event HERE.

Lastly, we’ve been wrangled into emceeing ‘nother upcomin’ convention — Toylanta in Duluth, Georgia! Yup, the head honchos that run this toy collector’s haven of happiness saw us in action durin’ our emcee stint from the Screaming Soup! booth at Retro Toy Con this past November and were so impressed by our gift of crowd pleasin’ gab, they invited us to be the official mouth of their event as well. Yee-haw! So, if yer in that neck of the woods March 28-30, 2025 and wanna meet yer favorite animated horror host with the likes of Sgt. Slaughter and actors from yer favorite franchises like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Power Rangers, then swing by our table and scream howdy!

Other than that, please show your support for our show with donations through PatreonBuy Me A Coffee, and Ko-fi, purchase Screaming Soup! Fan Club Kits and exclusive merch, catch up on all past Screaming Soup! Seasons, check out this week’s Howl’n Hottie, read recent bite-size reviews for the newer horror films we’re checkin’ out in our blog R-Rated Reviews, and help us get the word out about the web’s #1 animated horror host show!
