Howdy there, Scream Freaks! If you haven’t already noticed, we got our new season up and kickin’ and none too soon! We find out Billy’s fate, set-up some teases for future trouble at the Howl-Inn Grub & Spirits, slip in bits of backstory, and officially introduce this season’s newest bad guys, the four horsemen of the apocalypse! And if all that weren’t enough, the cherry on top is a review of “Rowdy” Roddy Piper’s infamous Hell Comes to Frogtown with a little follow-up on its two sequels.

We also gotta give a big thank ya to the folks who helped out with this particular episode. This is the first time the animated segments fully feature music by Brian Barnes from Mondopiece Theatre, a long time supporter of our show, so a huge round of applause for him. We also got to work Pretty Weird Art’s Ethan and Rachel Monglin, the amazin’ creators behind the Death Elf and Woose comics which we discussed in a past Graphic Headstone article. SCREAMING AT MANDY’S EASTER CONTEST!

Howdy there, Scream Freaks! It ain’t quite here yet, but Easter’s hoppin’ up on us, and our favorite ghostly girlfriend Mandy’s got some prizes to give away. We’re askin’ all you Scream Freaks out there to dig into that humorously dark part of your brain and tweet us the scariest thing about the Easter Bunny with the hashtag #BillyBunny. The tweets will be reviewed by your favorite animated horror hosts here at Screaming Soup!, and our favorite tweet will win a copy of Easter Sunday starrin’ Robert “Maniac Cop” Z’Dar along with other random Easter swag.

What is it with holiday characters anyway? Why is part of their celebrated charm breakin’ into your home and doin’ stuff when you’re sleepin’? Santa expects milk and cookies, Tooth Fairy steals your teeth, leprechauns wreck your shit, ghosts and goblins want candy, and the Easter Bunny either leaves you a basket of chocolate or 2nd Christmas goodies dependin’ on how rich your parents are. It’s no wonder these fantasy creatures are so easily imagined as horror villains, ’cause it ain’t that big a stretch for the imagination to think of these invasive boogey men as Medusa monsters you’re not suppose to see creepin’ around you.

Anyway, if you haven’t seen Easter Sunday yet, it’s a cheap holiday horror that definitely belongs with other like-minded classics like Thankskilling. A bunny mask wearin’ psycho’s Easter massacre is stopped by Sheriff Z’Dar, but it’s rabbit season all over again when some yahoos accidentally resurrect the slasher’s soul years later for some Easter fun. Mandy’s plannin’ a full review for this one later on, so all we’ll say for now is if you like grindhouse inspired flicks, chatty slashers, and gory eye gags, then this is right up your alley!

Contest ends Saturday 4/8/17 and the winner will be announced 4/10/17! Be dark, be funny, be creative, and don’t forget to add #BillyBunny so we can find it!

SCREAMING AT TEENAGE CATGIRLS IN HEAT VS SORORITY BABES IN SLIME BOWL-O-RAMA!

Howdy there, Scream Freaks! Wooo doggy! We’re only 2 episodes into this war of the independent Bs, and things are heatin’ up! We head back to the Howl-Inn Grub & Spirits for a breather and find some of the war’s secretly spilled over into the basement where our favorite Scream Queen, Linnea Quigley, is throwin’ down with some sassy cat girls from Troma. Good times, plenty o’ drinks, and one hell of an endin’!

This episode also gives you a peek at Troma’s base which is a chunk of Tromaville magically transported to the Crosslands with the rest of Troma’s mutants and psycho gangs. And like Full Moon’s Charles Band sharin’ words of wisdom with his creations last episode, this opens with Lloyd Kaufman bein’ summoned by his characters . . . sorta. The original intention was for Lloyd to make a live cameo like Charlie did, but he unfortunately couldn’t participate at this time, leavin’ us to resort to the next best thing with a blatant lunch sack puppet parody. Maybe he’ll join the fun further into the season, but that’s what’s happenin’ with all that.

We’re also happy to announce an idea we’ve been playin’ around with, the “Spot the Dollman Challenge!” For the rest of the season, we’re gonna play an I Spy game with Full Moon’s 13 inch cop bein’ hidden among the animation from now ’til episode #40. The first Scream Freak to spot the Dollman and email ScreamingSoup@gmail.com a screen shot or video time code of Dollman’s appearance wins a random Full Moon DVD and a signed piece of Screaming Soup! artwork. Pretty cool, huh? Our first winner this season is Jared Johnson from Paradise, CA. Congrats, Jared!
