Howdy there, Scream Freaks! Jumpin’ jack-o-lanterns, are we thrilled to bring y’all the next rowdy chapter in our efforts to help Count Ted be all he can be as the new king of the vampires, and if that ain’t ’nuff excitement fer ya, there’s plenty of new behind the scenes stuff to share, so let’s get to it, what do ya say?
First off, we’re back with an all new wild weird west misadventure, and this time we’re screamin’ at mummies! Yessir, now that Frankenstein’s bent Ted’s ear to bringin’ Dracula’s ol’ crew back together with the likes of Wolfie and the Gill Critter, it’s time we head into the hottest pockets of the Deathwind Desert and wrangle us the toilet paper company’s biggest missed opportunity fer a mascot and add the royally decrepit Azero to the gang. The shufflin’ wrinkle may not be as cunnin’ as Imhotep or as slick as Tom Cruise, but Azero’s sure to bring some of that been-there-done-that wisdom with him to Ted’s advantage. All we gotta do is tolerate his escape room of a pyramid long ’nuff to recruit him, but seems there’s already folks out there lookin’ to throw a monkey wrench in our plans with Ted’s new popularity drawin’ attention from some pretty vile creeps!
In the meantime, we’ll be takin’ a look at a mess of a horror comedy called Bloodsucking Pharaohs in Pittsburgh featurin’ special make-up effects by none other than the king of splatter himself — Tom Savini. In hindsight, we probably should have reviewed somethin’ with an actual mummy in it like Tale of the Mummy or Time Walker, but this oddball flick has been on our to-do list fer awhile of alternative movies outside the mainstream we wanna bring awareness to, and this seemed as good a time as any to showcase it. So, while there’s no ancient curses or livin’ stiffs lookin’ to strangle everyone in sight, we still think it’s mummy adjacent in the loosest sense given it boasts memorable killers from Pittsburgh’s Little Egypt leavin’ one helluva blood trail.
