Howdy there, Scream Freaks! Hope y’all are well rested after that Creepy Channel Crawl last weekend. We can’t remember the last time we thought anything was important enough to stay up 24 hours for, but that was a fun and successful marathon . . . for most. Okay, some channels didn’t manage to meet YouTube’s new requirements for subs or viewin’ hours to monetize their vids, but we did come together as a horrortube community and forge some longlastin’ friendships that’ll be more magical than any ponies’. Want our advice for growin’ your fan base, visit your local cell phone or Apple store and start playin’ your show on every device you can get your claws on. Lots of views on multiple machines, and who knows what clueless customer or morally worn out employee might discover you and sub your channel before turnin’ it off for another round of Angry Birds. Don’t think we don’t do it!

Anyway, you may notice February is comin’ to a close, and we still haven’t gotten the next episode up. Don’t worry. It’s comin’, and we’re bustin’ our asses every free moment we get to beat the month with the fewest days out of the year! In case you haven’t heard, we used to have our episodes made a year in advance so mad dashes like this wouldn’t happen, but then we upped our animation game with high octane adventures with an army’s worth of characters that pushed production waaay back, costin’ us that cushion. We mean, we could have stuck with our gang yammerin’ at a table every episode like seasons one through two, but then we wouldn’t have our epic road trip from Buzzkill’s Revenge or that monster mash with Full Moon that was enough work to equal three of our regular seasons.

We think we’re gonna get episode 42 up by 2/28/18, but we can’t guarantee that as much as we hate to say it. We can if we slap somethin’ together in a hurry, but quality over quantity, Scream Freaks. Sounds like a lazy artist’s get out of jail free excuse for fallin’ down on the job, especially after bein’ on time with our episodes for four years, but we really do take pride in our work and always want to come back to them without any shame. We always had aspirations to work in comics since a young age, so we like to think our show operates at that level to a degree. Comics give you 20 pages of sequential goods for a few bucks every month, we provide 20 minutes of free animated mayhem every month. And we remember we don’t have to be too hard on ourselves, because while there’s some legendary comic talents known for workin’ impossible schedules doin’ the writin’, pencilin’, and inkin’ on their monthly books, there’s other celebrated folks like Madman creator Mike Allred who’s work was hittin’ shelves bi-monthly!

Speakin’ of comics, here’s an update for ya. Publishin’ at least one comic book has always been on our bucket list, and we think we may have found a publisher who can make that dream come true. We won’t say who for right now, but they print and distribute a lot of independent short run titles across the world, and they’re always takin’ submissions which really has us pumped. We’re beginnin’ to pull together an idea for a three part Screaming Soup! mini-series and figurin’ out how to accomplish this in conjunction with our commitment to the show. It would be a lotta work with very little sleep, but we’ll sleep when we’re deader.

Other than that, be sure to catch up on all past Screaming Soup! Seasons, check out this week’s Howl’n Hottie, read recent reviews for the newer horror films and comics we’re checkin’ out in our blogs, R-Rated Reviews and Sequential Slime, and help us get the word out about the web’s #1 animated horror host show! Please use our social buttons in the upper right corner of the site and follow our tweets, subscribe to our video channels, like our Facebook, watch and share all our vids, and keep that fan mail comin’.

For all you fearmakers out there workin’ on your next scary feature, remember to shoot it our way as an entry in our Scream Freak Film Contest! Three winners will be reviewed in our 50th episode and promoted to all the Scream Freaks lookin’ for the next big thing Hollywood’s too scared to capitalize on. Deadline’s 8/20/18, so hurry!

Warm up some Screaming Soup! leftovers with reruns currently playin’ on Beta Max TV and Sluggo’s The Vortexx!

See ya later, Scream Freaks!
